About the Widmans

Ron and Patti Widman retired from their careers in information technology and bakery management in 2003 and 2004. They left their home state of Maryland where they had lived their entire lives and headed for the warmer waters of Charleston, South Carolina in 2005.

Trailering their twenty four foot boat and dealing with launch ramp follies wasn’t really their ideal so when they saw an ad for a Camano Troll trawler, they investigated and eventually purchased HIGH COTTON in February 2008.

The Widmans began with overnight cruises (something they had done with their smaller boat), then weekends, then several longer cruises north and south of their home base.

About HIGH COTTON

HIGH COTTON is a year 2000 Camano Troll. Powered by a 200 HP Volvo TAMD 41P diesel engine, she cruises easily and economically at 2,000 RPM making seven knots over slack water and burning 1.8 gallons of fuel per hour. Faster speeds are possible with a significant decrease in fuel economy.

HIGH COTTON is equipped with dual helms so she can be operated from the flybridge or the lower helm as desired.

HIGH COTTON boasts a full galley with refrigerator/freezer, a three burner propane range with oven and broiler, a microwave oven powered from the boat’s DC system, and hot and cold running water. There is a head and shower, dining table in the saloon, V berth, and TV/DVD player. She has all the comforts of home in a compact and mobile package.

HIGH COTTON is currently slipped at Clark Island Marina on Johns Island, South Carolina.
